Jalapenos are harvested while still immature and are their familiar green colour.
When left on the vine to fully ripen they turn a bright red.

When dried and smoked the Jalapeno is called Chipotle.
We also sell these whole Chipotle (Red and Brown).
However, these unsmoked, dried Jalapenos are actually much more difficult to find as most are smoked.
These Chillies possess a familiar earthy-grassy flavour.
Jalapenos are a medium heat chilli, averaging 2,500 to 8,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units).
One cup of Jalapeño Flakes is approximately 2.2 ounces. (62g approx).

These handy Jalapeno Flakes can be used in chilli, corn bread, salsa’s, sauces, spice blends, stews, taco meat or sprinkled over chicken, eggs, pork chops and of course amazing on pizza.
